(Press Trust of India Via Thomson Dialog News Edge) Hyderabad, Apr 7 (PTI) Northgate Technologies Ltd launched its Globe7 Soft phone through its 100 per cent subsidiary Globe7 Inc USA.

Globe7 Internet2 Soft phone technology, conceptualised with IPTV, crossed 2.5 million downloads by heaping 2.1 million downloads in the previous month alone. Globe7 spreads its wings, covering 187 countries across 7 continents (including Antarctica). Top 10 countries those made major downloads include India, USA, China, Morocco, Brazil, Egypt, Turkey, Vietnam, Poland and France, North gate Technology CEO Venkat Meenavalli told newsmen here today.

Globe7 Inc and Lycos Inc USA signed a three-year agreement, where certain features like Lycos search/Lycos web Links are exclusive to the Lycos in the US, he said.

Meenavalli said Globe7 is also currently negotiating with major community based websites to launch its private label solution in Asia, Europe and South America, North America in coming months.

Globe7 is integrated with Axill.Com, an online and delivery-tracking engine, where ads are being delivered on geographic and demographic based locations on user's interest. Globe7 is developed by using cutting edge technologies like Java, JMF, NIST SIP Stack (National Institute of Standards and Technology) an US Federal government agency, he said.

"We are positing Globe7 as unique disruptive Internet2 per application where information, news, video on demand, voice, real time communication are delivered at people's "Lap" or 'Desk' Top", Meenavalli said.
